At Ashley’s Music Studio, we strive to help each child develop a love and appreciation for music. We offer private lessons for all ages and abilities. Students will learn a wide variety of musical styles from classical to modern, hymns, pop and old time favorites. All aspects of music will be taught, including reading, rhythm, sound development, theory and repertoire so that the student becomes a complete musician.

We make our lessons fun and enjoyable. Games are used to teach and reinforce different musical concepts.

Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind. Wherever the student’s musical interests lie, our  instructors will help the student realize his or her greatest musical ambitions.

Star Students Program

This program is designed to motivate and encourage students to practice, their results will be shown on the practice chart. The goal is for each student to practice at least 4 days per week. This will direct your child towards improving their practice habits, which in the end develops better playing skills. If your child has practiced the minimum requirements, please initial the writing book and indicate the number of days practiced that week. Students will receive a sticker on the practice chart on the wall. Rewards will be handed out at the end of the year for students who were the most dedicated towards practicing.

Music recitals are one of the highlights for both students and parents alike. Students perform to the best of their ability to an audience of family, friends and peers. Recitals are held twice a year – in December and June. All students are welcome to perform, but they are not obliged to do so. Parents will be informed about recitals through a note sent home with their child.

The Royal Conservatory of Music

The Royal Conservatory of Music is widely recognized as one of the most significant music institutions. It is internationally commended for its curriculum, teachers, and graduates. This leading school of music has produced distinguished musicians who are acclaimed throughout the world.

Students who study through the Royal Conservatory of Music benefit from a balanced course of study which develops essential musical skills. This helps students to set challenging goals for themselves, and it also builds tools for success: discipline, confidence and time management.

Music exams are conducted 3 times each year by highly qualified examiners through the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). The purpose of an exam is to give the student invaluable experience and a meaningful goal. Upon completion, the student will receive an internationally recognized diploma, as well as an objective assessment of the student’s performance. This will give the student confidence and encouragement to carry on to the next grade. Examinations are not mandatory, and are only taken at the student’s request.
