Ashley has an extensive background in music education, and has been teaching since 2000. She studied piano pedagogy with The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and The Francis Clark School of Keyboard Pedagogy in New Jersey. She is a specialist in beginner, intermediate and advanced piano education. Weekly she teaches 70 students from beginner to advanced levels preparing them for exams, festivals, recitals and other performances. Her students are known for their outstanding piano skills, receiving high marks on exams and winning festival scholarships. She has also given various lectures to her advanced students in piano pedagogy and music psychology.
Ashley taught for a few other music studios, and opened her own in 2001. Since then, she has grown her studio into a full time business and employs two additional teachers. Ashley has also taught music in elementary schools, and conducted the junior concert band at Orangeville District Secondary School for many years. Ashley received her education from The Royal Conservatory of Music, with her main focus of study in piano pedagogy. She also provides workshops to students studying Piano Pedagogy through the RCM. Ashley is committed to high standards of education and furthers her own skills by taking advanced workshops and attending seminars in music history, pedagogy and advanced literature.
Ashley is also an accomplished musician. She has played first flute with the Brampton Symphony Orchestra, and played with the Caledon Concert Band. Ashley has also performed many solo performances on both the flute and piano.
